Cuisine Retreat

Kitchen renovation for a young family who loves to cook and entertain large gatherings. They are a very active family with several animals which required durable finishes and a highly functional space. The outdated kitchen they inherited when they purchased the home was neither their taste nor very functional. He loves modern/minimalist design, she loves textures and mixing materials and a lot of space for display and personalization to change seasonally. Durability was a big concern. Dekton countertops work hard by being both stain and heat proof. Providing multiple work stations allow for multiple functions to happen simultaneously. Working with the existing architecture, we created a tray ceiling to define the space and inserted custom wood beams on the ceiling stained to match the island cabinetry. The perimeter cabinetry is painted oak with a vintage finish. The island cabinetry is a dark stain on maple wood.
